WWW Wednesday – 12th December 2018

Happy Wednesday Everyone!

Welcome back to WWW Wednesday. WWW Wednesday is a meme hosted by Sam over at Taking on a World of Words.

I hope you’re all doing well. It’s been a while since my last WWW Wednesday. I’ve got a lot going on at the moment so when it comes to my blog I’m just being relaxed about it and posting when I can. It also means I’m not doing a huge amount of reading.

I’ll bring you up to speed with what I have been managing to read and what’s next on my agenda.

Enjoy!

What is WWW Wednesday?

For WWW Wednesday you answer the following questions:

  1. What are you currently reading?
  2. What have you recently finished reading?
  3. What do you think you’ll read next?

What are you currently reading?

Five Feet Apart – Rachael Lippincott
The Binding - Bridget Collins
The Binding – Bridget Collins

At the moment I am about 3/4 of the way through Bridget Collins’ The Binding (look at that cover, I just love it) which I am enjoying and it is so intense. I’ve honestly had times where I’ve had to put it down and walk away because I just couldn’t take the suspense or anxiety anymore. It really is an impressive piece of writing.

I was super excited yesterday to be approved on NetGalley for Five Feet Apart by Rachael Lippincott. I tried my best to get a physical ARC for this book but to no avail. I’m a huge fan of The Fault in Our Stars so this book resonated with me. I’ve also followed someone on YouTube for a number of years who has CF [cystic fibrosis] so I am curious to see how Lippincott portrays the disease.

What have you recently finished reading?

A photo of the book Miss Marley with some christmas items, including christmas candles and a mini nordic christmas tree.

I recently reviewed Vanessa Lafaye and Rebecca Mascull’s Miss Marley which you can check out here. It’s a perfect book for curling up in a chair over Christmas with a glass of  glühwein and comes highly recommended.

As a complete contrast to Miss Marley, last week I got totally distracted from my TBR by Bird Box. I already knew about this book before it was being made into a film, but wanted to read the book first. Totally honestly, I didn’t dig it. I found it a bit disappointing although I will give it credit for being creepy and spooky.

What do you think you’ll read next?

We Must Be Brave - Frances Liardet
We Must Be Brave – Frances Liardet

I don’t even know why I do this question as I never stick to it! 🙂 I really need to get ahead on my January and February TBR list so I think Frances Liardet’s We Must Be Brave will be next on my list. I’ve had this book for months and the ARC is so stunning (cover by Heike Schüssler). I can’t wait to get stuck in.

It really depends though on whether I can get some books finished up before Christmas and what Santa brings me! Squee!

  1. I read Bird Box last week as well. I enjoyed it but I was left unsatisfied because I still had so many questions after I finished it. There were so many things left unanswered. I look forward to watching the movie still. I deviated from my TBR to read Bird Box as well once I seen the movie was coming out this month.
