Books I’m Giving As Gifts This Christmas

I don’t think many of my friends or relatives read my blog but, if you do, please look away now!

If I buy someone a Christmas gift there’s probably a 99.9% chance it’ll be a book, especially for the younger humans in my life. So, I thought I’d do a quick post on what books I’m giving as gifts this year, broken down into age categories.

Enjoy and Merry Christmas!

Younger Readers

Age range of recipients: 2-4 years old

(L-R, top to bottom)

The Snail and the Whale – Julia Donaldson, Axel Scheffler
The Paper Dolls – Julia Donaldson, Rebecca Cobb
Kipper’s Monster – Mick Inkpen
Press Here – Herve Tullet
This Is Not My Hat – Jon Klassen

My favourite out of these has to be This Is Not My Hat by Jon Klassen. I’m not sure I’ve ever read a Jon Klassen book I don’t like!

Confident Readers

Age range of recipients: 7-11

(L-R)

The Eye of the North – Sinéad O’Hart
Attack of the Demon Dinner Ladies – Pamela Butchart
To Wee or Not to Wee – Pamela Butchart
There’s A Werewolf in My Tent – Pamela Butchart
LEGO Star Wars The Visual Dictionary – DK

My favourite of these has to be The Eye of the North. I absolutely love the cover and illustrations inside and I’ll be getting myself a copy of this book very soon!

Adult Readers

Age range of recipients: Adults!

(L-R)

Eleanor Oliphant is Completely Fine – Gail Honeyman
The Last Chance Hotel – Nicki Thornton
Lady Killers – Tori Tefler

My favourite out of these has to be The Last Chance Hotel. It’s a middle-grade book but it has been purchased for a relative who loves middle-grade nearly as much as I do!
