Happy Wednesday Everyone!
Welcome back to WWW Wednesday. WWW Wednesday is a meme hosted by Sam over at Taking on a World of Words.
I’ve been a bit quiet on the blogging front the last week – good intentions were taken over by unexpected life events but I still managed to squeeze in some reading.
This will be my last WWW Wednesday of January – I’m not sure where the time has gone…!
What is WWW Wednesday?
For WWW Wednesday you answer the following questions:
- What are you currently reading?
- What have you recently finished reading?
- What do you think you’ll read next?
What are you currently reading?
I devoured Leïla Slimani’s book Lullaby in one sitting after getting a recommendation from Amy over at Tomes with Tea. Even though I’ve known about Slimani’s latest novel, Adèle, for a while, for some reason I didn’t sort myself out until last week to get a request into NetGalley for it. Thankfully they turned around my request quickly and I’m currently about halfway through.
I have to admit I’m not fully sold on it just yet. I feel like it’s not building up to anything but I am hoping I’m wrong.
My other current read is the audiobook of Anne Griffin‘s When All is Said. I really wanted to read this book but I just don’t have time or capacity to physically read it. I’m enjoying the lovely narrator and the storyline, although I do have one complaint: at no point whilst purchasing this book was I warned I would need an industrial supply of Kleenex!

What have you recently finished reading?

The Star-spun Web by Sinéad O’Hart is simply wonderful. It sparkles and glitters, taking you to a new world. Full review coming very soon.

It has been a while since I’d read a graphic novel and I’m particularly fond of those published by Europe Comics. I downloaded Juan Berrio’s Seven Places Without You from NetGalley and was pretty impressed. Berrio has a clever use of space in his drawings to emphasise the protagonist’s loneliness and it’s very emotive. I’ll be looking out for more from Berrio in the future.
What do you think you’ll read next?

Confession time. I’ve still not got around to reading Frances Liardet’s We Must Be Brave and publication day is just around the corner! I’m going to wrap up my current reads and then it’s definitely on to this one. Promise…!

Nice list. Next on my list is Shouting at the Rain by Lynda Mullaly Hunt. I’ve liked all her other books and am really looking forward to it. Thanks for the post.
