WWW Wednesday – 6th February 2019

Happy Wednesday Everyone!

Welcome back to WWW Wednesday. WWW Wednesday is a meme hosted by Sam over at Taking on a World of Words.

I’ve had an amazing start to February on my blog. I was lucky enough to be a featured blogger with The Write Reads with my blog post on the bookshop Golden Hare Books, and then a particularly well-received blog tour post on Nina de Pass’ The Year After You.

Although I’ve been busy looking after my blog and Twitter account, I have managed to step away and get some reading done.

I hope you’re all having a wonderful February! Enjoy.

What is WWW Wednesday?

For WWW Wednesday you answer the following questions:

  1. What are you currently reading?
  2. What have you recently finished reading?
  3. What do you think you’ll read next?

What are you currently reading?

I was on the bus on my way to work the other day, and found myself just having a quick look at Lindsay Littleson’s Guardians of the Wild Unicorns on my Kindle. You know, just a quick glance. Read the synopsis. Before I knew it I’d read a quarter of it. I am hooked! I’m not going to say anything else at the moment but keep an eye out for a full review coming very soon.

I’m on a bit of a middle-grade stint at the moment, having also picked up Amy Wilson’s Snowglobe. I’m only a few pages so no thoughts just yet, BUT I will say I’m very excited as this is a book on my backlist! To find out more, check out my Beat the Backlist Challenge post.

What have you recently finished reading?

I mentioned in my last WWW Wednesday that I had started reading Leïla Slimani’s Adèle but wasn’t fully sold on the book. I’ve now finished it and sadly, this book just wasn’t for me. The plot and storyline were lacking and the book did not appear to have direction. Maybe something lost in translation?

What do you think you’ll read next?

When I put in a request for John Marrs’ The Passengers I really didn’t think I’d be lucky enough to get a response. So you can imagine my joy when a copy arrived in the post! It’s not out for a while yet and it should be further down my TBR list, but I don’t think I’ll be able to resist.

  1. I’m really looking forward to my review copy of Guardians of the Wild Unicorns arriving as it looks great 😊. I really liked Snowglobe when I read it last year, so I’m excited to hear what you think about that as you get further in!
