It’s Twixtmas!
That’s right, it’s the days between Christmas and New Year, affectionately known by some as ‘Twixtmas’. I’m lucky to be off work for another week so I thought I’d share with you what I received for Christmas, in terms of books and a few other bits and pieces.
I consider myself to be very fortunate to have received these gifts and I am very grateful for everything.

Unfollow was a book on my wishlist and I was excited to start reading it – which I did – and I’m sad to say I DNF’d it after about 40 pages.

The Secret Lives of Colour – Kassia St Clair
This book is so pretty, inside and out! I’ve been ill so I’ve not found the headspace to really sit down and absorb it yet but I am hoping to do so very soon.

If you know me you’ll know I am a huge fan of Galley Beggar Press, and I was regretting passing up the opportunity to buy Lucia earlier in the year. I now have it and it’s sitting at the top of my TBR.

This was a surprise gift with my order from the lovely people at Bert’s Books, and I was fortunate enough to receive a book I’ve had on my TBR for months. I devoured this book over a few hours and highly recommend it for podcast fans.

The Murder of Harriet Monckton – Elizabeth Haynes
I love my copy of TMHM, not just because I’m excited to read it, but also because it’s a signed edition! Huge thanks to Elizabeth for taking the time to sign my copy.
My partner also decided to fuel my obsession with watching lock picking videos by getting me a beginner lock picking set. It comes with three practice locks and a basic set of tools, which you can see here (not sponsored). Just for clarity, lock sport (as it’s known by the lock picking community) is about skill and having fun, and not intended for nefarious purposes.
I also received a few things to add to my sewing kit, as well as some much needed socks and perfume!

I loved all my gifts this Christmas – let me know in the comments below what you received.
Wishing you a bookish week,

The Six Stories are great, I’m glad you enjoyed that! It’s a shame Unfollow wasn’t for you. Happy reading 🙂
