WWW Wednesday – 1st April 2020

Welcome back to WWW Wednesday. WWW Wednesday is a meme hosted by Sam over at Taking on a World of Words.

I’m feeling disinclined to blog at the moment but felt a WWW Wednesday post would be straightforward and at least keep my blog ticking over. Is anyone else feeling like this at the moment? Let me know in the comments below.

Take care of yourselves and keep reading.

For WWW Wednesday you answer the following questions:

  1. What are you currently reading?
  2. What have you recently finished reading?
  3. What do you think you’ll read next?

I was a bit disappointed last week to get an email from Waterstones to say my signed copy of Little Eyes by Samantha Schweblin wasn’t coming, but I managed to get it on Kindle for 99p. Bargain. This book is very disturbing so far and I’m loving it.

As part of my attempt to get out of my reading slump, I’ve turned to the wonderful publisher Barrington Stoke. They have a focus on making books for children and young people which are ‘super-readable’ and dyslexia-friendly. For the most part, the books are around 100 pages and super satisfying to read.

I picked up True Sisters by Keren David and thoroughly enjoyed this book. It’s about race, family, school, bullying, and has LGBTQ+ representation. Highly recommended.

I’m due to pick up another non-fiction read (I try to read one fiction and one non-fiction simultanously) and I think my next book will be The Bystander Effect by Catherine A. Sanderson.

What’s on your TBR list? Let me know in the comments below and don’t forget to share a link to your own WWW Wednesday.

Wishing you a bookish week,

Nuthatch
